Nitrate level for coral needs?

Got an established 30g cube recently with some thriving fish but want to add coral. All parameters are fine aside from high nitrates due to having to get a different skimmer which is now running. Where do nitrates need to be before adding any corals? Yes I will start with hardier beginner corals but I want to be safe. Thanks

<5ppm to start.....not being rude but if I were you I would spend sometime looking through the forum at successful tanks. There you'll find setup and parameters. Also browse the Chem forum and do some research. Check out old articles in Reef keeping online and understand why parameters need to be in certain ranges.
