Nitrates in FOWLR

Quick question to all you FO guys;

What Nitrate level do you run your tanks at?

Just because you can get away with having higher nitrates doesn't mean you should.

You can do a search on this same subject and get a wide range of answers. I try to keep it under 50

My tank stays around 20/30. The tank is lightly stocked with 10% water change every 1 1/2 weeks.

I built a 6 ft, 6 inch dia, two column, sulfur denitrator. It took the nitrates from around 200 to less than 20 for my 900 gal. I feed about 1.5 pounds of food, every other day.

I'm not suggesting you should have high nitrates, just interested on what people do run at, as I've never had a fo tank myself.

I keep mine in the 20-50 range. It's a 180 gallon tank and I change 30 gallons once or twice a week depending on the nitrate reading.
