I have what I believe is a blue tort (if someone could provide an actual ID that would be cool) that has little if any polyp extension day or night. The coral shows noticeable growth, if not daily, then every other day. I had an episode of STN about three months which affected the coral in question as well as a pink birdsnest. Both corals still have a good amount of bare spots, but are showing signs of growth / recovery.
Basic information:
93gal cube w/ 20L sump
2x AI SOL approx. 12" above water (B, RB, W each set to 55%)
2x MP40 each on lagoon mode at about 50% max speed
Reef Octopus XS160
Fuge w/ live rock, sand and chaeto
BRS GFO reactor
Ammo, Nitrite, Nitrate, Phos -- undetected
Calc = 440
dK = 8-9
Mg = no test kit
SG = 1.024
pH = 8.1
Temp ~ 78°F
Stock - 2x Occ. Clowns, 1x disbar anthia, 1x yellow clown goby
What's odd is that the remainder of my SPS all show polyp extension, just not the tort. I would think that if my parameters were out of line that I wouldn't see PE on the other SPS and good growth out of the tort. In the FTS, the coral in question is visible just to the right of the MP40 on the back wall.
Ideas?
