I set up a 12 inch cube tank about a month ago with established lr and sand from a larger tank. The membrane in my R.O unit went so I had to use tap for a while and got a huge hair algae outbreak. It grew onto my corals and became a problem. I had no access to R.O so I replaced almost all of the water with "nutrisea" water after scrubbing the rock in a different bucket. This was a few days ago.
All of my parameters are perfect and I am running a huge bag of chemipure elite but none of my corals are looking happy. Most of my zoas have been closed for days, leather is disintegrating, xenia is gone, GSP and sympodium haven't came out in a week. Not even the mushrooms are full and plump. Only my acan frag looks happy.
The only thing I have done is dip the zoas in a hydrogen peroxide and tank water mix, but they were closed before that as well. Either that or I am not leaving things alone, but coral wasn't happy before the water change either.
Any suggestions?
