Northern California Waterfalls & Streams

If it weren't for the 50 degree temperature I would have thought I was in Hawaii or Costa Rica again!

If you are from around Marin or San Francisco, the Fairfax waterfalls are gushing right now. I spent a day out there yesterday trying my hand at more long exposure work. I used a polarizer for these to cut down on glare and get more color from the stream bed.

Awesome pictures. I love the long exposures on the water falls like that. What lens were you using?

thanks! this was the DA* 16-50 F2.8
I took these shots at ISO 100, F 8-16, 8-30 seconds

Looks nice there. Alaska looks a LOT different than where you're at right now.

Haha I can imagine! Its still cold here but winters seldom drop below freezing in san francisco.

Wow, that is just beautiful. Are the waterfalls pretty easy to access?

The falls run right along the Cataract Trail so they are super easy to access. Most of the falls are small )1-10ft but some of them are 20-40ft.

I tend to focus on the smaller falls where the stream beds are shallow.
