Not a fan of MD customer service

I bought a mag9 pump from MD about 3 months ago. After setting it up as an external pump for a closed loop, I noticed a small leak from the casing. After calling in to their customer service I was told that they will not accept a return because they do not recommend it be run externally.

Now I understand that they may not recommend it, but a leaky pump that is designed to be run externally should be able to be returned. Since they did have a note on their website that this pump is not recommended for external use, I bit my tounge, did not pursue the issue any further, and decided to fix the problem myself.

Then, about two months ago I ordered a couple tunze 6025. I was told they were on back order and would be shipped at the end of February. Now I'm being told that the shipment was pushed back to the end of March. I understand that they may not be able to control problems with when they recieve shipments, but I had to learn of this delay from this forum. Why would MD not contact me to let me know that my order has been delayed for yet another month.

That to me is the second strike against Marine Depot in as many tries. I for one am not about to let myself stikeout with this company. Once I receive these pumps I will never again order from MD. I still half expect the order to be pushed back again.

This has all been very disappointing considering the strong reputation they have on this board.

Hi Spence,

I apologize for the inconvenience on your order. I've sent you a PM on hopefully resolving this issue for you. Unfortunately, there were production delays with the Tunze 6025.

Please reply to my PM or give me a call so we can help you further.
