not RTN but loss of tissue

I had to frag because of a problem with with stuff settling on my sps. Some pcs are coming back but I dont know about leaving them "as is" or doing more cutting. The one up close would be nubs if I cut away the dead part. The one in the back I could snip the tip but it would still be dead at the base. What's the recommended path to follow?

Based on the picture, I'd say the recommended course of action would be lots of prayer, followed by the last rites. Hope you prove me wrong!
