Hey Everyone!

I purchased 2 new coral the other day from my LFS. A Duncan and Candy Cane, they have been looking great the past few days but this morning when i came down to check on everything the Duncan was fully retracted and the candy cane has something hanging from it. The Frag tank has been up and running for about 4 weeks with dry live rubble rock. I did add food to help cycle the tank. Its a 20g long under 2x 1st gen Marineland reef LED's (not ideal), the LFS had them under MH. I did Dip both corals in Coral RX for 9mins. Did a 25% water change today already to make sure they stay healthy! Below are some pictures below from yesterday to today. The only fish in the tank is a lawnmower blenny. Any ideas on what they are reacting to? maybe the .25ppm ammonia?

Salinity: 1.024
Temp: 76.5 F
Ph: 8.2
Ammonia: .25 ppm
Nitrite: 0

It's the ammonia. I would proceed with more water changes and reduce feedings to the fish as appropriate. The tank is still cycling, you very little rock and no sand so limited medium for the development of beneficial bacteria.

Thanks smtank! I will do another 25% in the morning I also have a HOB filter filled with media :| trying to give the bacteria any/all surfaces possible to thrive!

Do you have any live rock that you could toss in there to help seed the dry rock you used even just a small piece would help. The stuff hanging off your candy cane kinda looks like some slime that was excreted from the coral
