Not sure what to do exactly!

I have a 12 gal nano, there is a reddish brown algea that keeps comming back, its kinda slimy too. Anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it. I did a 25% water change, and that helped some, but it just seams to keep comming back. All my water test's are all normal. Also what kind of clean up crew is recommend for these kinds of tanks. Right now I have about 15 trochus snails and 8 blue legged hermits.. Any information would be great.

It's cyano bacteria. There are lots of reasons it starts growing. Try to syphon it out when you do your water changes.

You can also try to increase your water flow or use some sort of phosphate/silicate remover in your filtration. That should help reduce it.

I had cyano really bad in my 20. I put in a bag of seachem phosgaurd and tossed a ball of cheato into a corner of my tank.
(I didnt have a sump or fuge on that tank). Other than that just syphon it out.. The cheato will steal all the extra food in the water and slowly starve the cyano. It took about a week and I was completly clear. Also Im not sure if it was a fluke or if its a fact but it didnt seem to like the higher calcium levels in my tank. I could notice a difference in days when I started dripping limewater...

I had cyano in my 55g tank and the only solution to it was syphon it as much as I can, then letting the sediment and the cyano settle down in teh bucket and siphon the water back, This one I could siphon everything with out having to do a water change and loosing water. A good thing to do afetr syphoning all the cyano bacteria is to do a big water change the same day or soon. And add some phosguard. Also macro algae will help and since it is a small tank, a cup of chaeto will be enought, if you have a fuge that even better, since you can add caulerpa and chaeto. I beleive that a fuge should be the same size than the tank so a 10g fuge won't be hard to setup and will keep your tank alage "free" and crystal clear water

i just had this problem in my 24 nano cube...25% water change And run a bag of carbon...gone in 48 hrs
