Now I need...

depending on what service you have DSL downloads at 768k, 1.5 mb, 3 mb, & 6mb, so any router faster than that will only help you transfer stuff between computers on the same network faster. And I dont know how fast your computer is but I know none of my computers could utilize all of that speed.

the most your gonna get from att is 6 Mbs unless you have serious dough and have a t-3 line run to the house.

the main purpose for routers to go that high is so that when you do home networking you can move files from computer to computer that much faster.

keep in mind that just because the router is capable of moving that fast a lot of the receivers in laptops are not capable of picking up that fast, and further more that could be your real problem if your moving slowly on your laptop.

NCOX38 a lot of hard drives these days that use SATA connection can write at 1.5Gbs though a lot of the mother boards can only process about 6-700 of that a second. but still faster than the router.

i bought mine from att for my att dsl has nice built in firewall. don't like lynksys, rather have one by D-link or made by motorola.
att uses 2wire brand there newer models they carry are nice.

I just found out that they make them at 300Mbps!!!

Do I need that with my ATT DSL?

BK

you wont utilize that speed considering att only offers 6mb service and less unless your doing lots of stuff on a LAN.
