NPS Differences

More specifically the dendrophyllia, tubastrea, and balanophyllia corals. What's the difference between them? As in care, physical difference, and behavioral differences. Just wondering.

Hello!!!
Only generally:
Dendrophyllia polyps come out during the day, Tubastrea no.
Dendrophyllia polyps tend to be larger than those of tubastrea.
Both, Dendrophyllia as tubastrea, form colony. Balanophyllia are large solitary polyps, they can grow up to 3 centimeters.
I read it, I'm not an expert. I hope you find it useful.
Best regards!!!
Walter.

Alright thanks, im guessing the care to all is similar, right?

Would you by any chance know which ones are the most common.

Hello Hossa!!!
In the same order, they are the most common and the cheapest :)
I would follow, for example, with Cirrhipathes spiralis or Cerianthus membranaceus (if you have a thick layer of substrate) after of the tubastrea and Dendrophyllia.
Greetings!!!!
Walter

IME dendros are pretty hardy and easy to keep happy even under light, balanos like more shade, sun corals I have had the most difficult time keeping and getting to open. All are a little picky about flow, have to find a spot they like to look the best. Also balanos, at least the corals I was sold as balanos have turned out to form colonies like dendros.

Variety of lps non photo corals
