NPS suggestions anyone?

I want to get some NPS for my tank, but I really don't know much about it and there isn't as much info as almost all other corals. What can you teach me and suggest to me? TIA!

Look at the sticky " Let's talk about corals to stock in a non-photosynthetic aquarium"
this would give you good suggestions
Perhaps start with Dendrophyllia or sun coral - they are fairly easy,
They usually do need to be target fed however for them to do well.

+1 to starting with a sun. suns are easy mode, if you cant handle that, you cant begin to handle the others lol although from what i have seen, certain sponges can be pretty easy too. not sure if that counts towards what you were looking for (probably not though)

+1 for the sun coral. They can be trained to open at the littlest amount of food on the water and are sweet looking. Definitely a standout in a mixed reef tank.

My approach has been to pick the corals that appeal to you asthetically and see whether you are prepared to maintain them.

As everyone says, sun corals are easier - there are two main varieties - dendros (dendrophyllia) and regular sun corals (tubastrea). Dendros remain open during most of they day. Tubastrea are primarily night owls. Yes, you can stimulate them by putting food in the water column but they will close up soon after. Also keep in mind that you will have to fend off your fish/shrimp/invert when you target feed. I have a big orange shoulder tang that (if i let him) will yank all the food from the coral polyps. I feed after the main lights go out to prevent this.

The thread on different NPS corals is good starting point.
