Nudibranch

Hi there, I was just looking around my tank and I have just found what looks like a Trioniopsis spp. on the back wall of my tank. I will try and get a picture of it soon but for now I was just wondering what harm this could do to my tank. I have a ten gallon with some GSP, Hammer and a toadstool.

While this type of nudibranch isn't the walking time bomb that Phyllidiella is they're trouble of another kind. They are specialized predators on cnidarians. That means your corals, fans, etc. are all at risk. So which do you prefer to keep? Nudis or cnidarians?

Thanks LeslieH. The reason I have this is that it must have come off a live rock that I bought for my tank. So do you think that I should get rid of it? because I would rather like to keep corals.

P.S. how much do you think I could get for it because my lfs does trade in's

Thanks

I've no idea about trade in value, sorry, but since you prefer corals you should find a new home for it.

Just to follow up, I took it to my LFS and gave it to them. They wouldn't give me anything for it, because they said that no one would want to buy it due to it's survival rate.

If you saw what it ate you could give it to someone that had a Xenia or Starpolyp problem (if that what it was eating).
