Awesome video, first good video I have seen of mantis shrimps in action. I was surprised at how long it took your O. scyllarus to kill that little crab, but I guess it looked like he was having fun. Your L. maculata looked great too. How deep is the sand bed in its tank?

The sand bed is at the moment 24 cm, but in a few weeks he becomes a new special tank with a 45 cm sand bed.

awesome video!! I really enjoyed both OS and LM in action. Is that a P. Cilata at last scene? Or OS can do that? It is sooo fast I couldn't recognize. Whatever it is, simply amazing!!

The last scene is a G. glabrous. When you watch the last scene frame by frame you can see that the smasher flips out his dactyl to catch the shrimp.

In our store in germany. We order O. scyllarus and sometimes we get a other species. These are lucky moments for a mantis collector like me.

No, i feed every day and once a week life crabs. Then it's partytime.
