o.t. bears and superbowl

who here thinks the bears can win the superbowl and can they do it in a shut out?
I wonder what the odds would be for that:p

I seriously don't think it will happen. Chicago and the bears are WAY too wrapped up on 85 and the past that they are having a hard time seeing what is in front of them now. 85 is over in done with. If they can focus on 06 and 07 they might have a chance. BTW if they can't shut out the Cardinals they won't shut out a team like the colts.

Yah, Bears will not be in the Superbowl, especially with Rex choking like he does in tough times....

I may be wrong about this, but the Cardinals problem is not impotence; it is their inability to put a team away. It should not surprise anyone that they scored on us.

It sure did surprise a TON of bears fans. Bears fans thought they were industructable. It's not the case. Everyone keeps comparing to the 85 team. At no time did the 85 team play that bad. Even when they lost to Miami it didn't look that pathetic.

I don't think Rex is a choker either. He responded well to pressure/adversity
1. Against Minne after he threw that horrible interception, and
2. When he played a great game against Seattle (one of the biggest games of his career).

I will, however, grant you that Grossman gets ahead of himself, although I don't think pressure causes this, but his personality/ego

Not to be bagging on anyone but I've said it many times. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Be excited about every win but as far as the post season goes we haven't even won the division yet. Superbowl talk is irrelevant and ridiculous at this point.

Last night Grossman, while he didn't choke persee, he did definitely crap the bed. Defense and special teams were responsible for 21 of 24 points. Then the defense almost gave it away by letting AZ make consecutive first downs on the next drive after we went ahead. If not for a really bad kick (can't blame it on wind in a dome) the outcome would have been really different and we wouldn't have heard that AWESOME Dennis Green tirade after the game.

Let's take it a week at a time and let's see if the Bears can get past game 16 and then we can talk about a Superbowl Shuffle '06.

has anyone else been paying attention for the last two decades?
the bears will not win the superbowl
lord almighty allowed that to happen once because of walter payton
dont get me wrong i grew up a bears fan in packerland
i just feel lke they always find a way to mess a good thing up
only time will tell for sure
but i say
DONT GET YOUR HOPES UP

Amen, Adam! :)

Bottom line is - Bears are 6-0. They are therefore quantitatively the best team in the league. Could they beat the 5-0 Colts? I don't know and we aren't gonna find out unless they BOTH make it to the Superbowl.

As for comparisons to 'da '85 Bears', I believe them to be apropos - dominating defense and an offense that shocks other teams' defenses (as well as its fans) with moments of rare brilliance. Maybe Rex is the next generation punky QB - he's certainly got an arm and we've got some fast receivers. Walter, however, will never be replaced. That's really my only concern area.

Yes, it's only six games into the season, but you gotta go 6-0 to get to undefeated. Then you win the Superbowl. Then you create a dynasty. Then you get the women!

We've had some dry years here in Bears Country so everyone should just be happy to be at the top looking down on the competition. BEAR DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that's funny... the colts in the SB.

Peyton's about as good as Plummer when it comes to the playoffs.

Way too early for Superbowl talk, look what all the hype did to them last night.
