O2 probe

I wanted to hear from any of you who have the apex PM3 with an O2 probe. I just bought it and installed it (pretty straight forward). I wanted to know how critical is it to calibrate. Also, with regards to oxygen saturation I wonder what is considered acceptable at sea level, with avg salinity and temperature. My readings (after correcting for salinity) go from the 80's to the low 90's, highest 95%. Is that within acceptable range.

thank you

I usually calibrate mine when I do all the other probes, every month to month and a half. Mine hangs around 85%, yours sounds fine.

Couldn't find anyone who owned one last time I looked. Cool to hear there are two who have them. westernreef what convinced you to get one? Pencil what sort of tank are you running?(500gallons, 20gallon, SPS domenant, mixed, heavy fish stock?) Particular reasons you would recommend others use these?

Basically I wanted to monitor another parameter that is essential to coral growth. I was concerned about O2 levels at night.

Why did you get it? What are your O2 levels?

If your asking me I didn't get it. I couldn't find anyone who had one so there was no one to compare numbers with. Anything you would do to increase O2 would be beneficial for other reasons as well, so you might as well do them with out numerical data attached to it. I've never heard an author or speak say if your O2 is at "90" you may want to consider adding a refugium or point your power heads more towards the water line, but if it is at "95" then you've got plenty and there is no need to make changes.
