Today my occelarris clown jumpped out of the tank into a waiting bucket of RO/DI water. He was in the bucket for probably 45 minutes up to 1.5 hours. When I noticed him in there he was still breathing, and moving a bit, but he was laying on his side on the bottom not swimming.
I imediately put him back in my display and he rolled around not looking so good, and my cleaner went after him. So i netted him and held him in the net for observation. He looks ok except his eyes seem cloudy, he stays upside down mostly, and he is in no shape to be in my display because his movement is very lethargic and doesn't seem controlled. He does not seem to like being in the net however.
I put him down in my fuge becaue I think the low flow will be better for him. He is breathing heavily, his eyes look cloudy, and he is not really swimming around.
Anyone think he will live? Should I consider putting him out of his misery? I feel absolutely awful about this, and will be taking mesures to prevent this from happening again. =(
