Oceanic Sea salt and cyano

I recently used Oceanic Sea salt for my last 50 gallons of water changes and have subsequently had a cyano outbreak. my tank was/is well established 3.5 years old and counting. normally very healthy parameters. wonder if this is the cause.
I have not done testing for nitrates/nitrates as of now so I cant post them. I am slowly eradicating the cyano with my turkey baster. I went back to my preferred tropic marine reef ready salt. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem?

Test the water and you will know. I use IO and sometimes Reef Crystals. Tropic Marin is a bit pricey IMO, but good quality none the less.

When is the last time you checked the TDS of your makeup and water change water?

My TDS just shot up one day. I feel like the mambrane in the RO just goes one day and you start topping up with crappy water without noticing.

I just changed my filters. TDS measures 000.PPM so this is not the problem. Just seemed coincidental that I suddenly had an outbreak when I switched. I will check the nitrates/trites tomorrow as I do not have a testing kit for that at the moment.
The cyano is getting better and my water change this week will be with Tropic Marine
