Oceans Motion 4way?

Hey Tom. I have one on a 120. It works well in my opinion. It is quiet also. I have version 2 and 3 drums. I like the version 3 due to it's port openings. 1&3 and then 2&4. I am running mine on a closed loop system with a Reeflo Dart pump. The pump is 2" input with 1 1/2" out into my 4 way. The 4 way I chose is 1" outputs. The only real complaint I have is with the nylon bolts they use. The heads seem to break off pretty easily. However, it is a cheap easy fix. Go to Menards and buy yourself 5/16-18-1/2 allen head metal bolts. They don't have any contact with the water so they are safe to use. They cost about .54 or so ea. You will need 6 of them. Other then that, it is a great idea and let's you keep the inside of the tank free of powerheads for a nice clean look. The flow is nice also. Paul, the owner is also top notch also. Great customer service. Always available to answer questions and will take the time to make sure you are 100% satisfied.

I have pictures of my plumbing in the 120upgrade thread on here.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Todd

Thanks Poppy28,
I'm looking at going with the version 4 (3 outlets open all the time), 1-1/2" inlet & 4 x 1" oultlets, that is recomended for the Revolutions. I have a Reeflo Dart pump to power the 4-way. The Revolutions I was looking at, are the 1" that split to a 15,30, & 45 nozzle.

That sounds like it would work fine. I love my dart pump so far. Nice and quiet. Please let me know how yours turns out. Would love to see some pics.

Thanks,

Todd

Will do.
I wish I could find a used one. But they seem to be as rare as used tunze osmolators.

They are scarce yes. I also tried to look for new, but remembered learning the hard way that, most nice things are better bought new with the manufacture warranty. I have had some pretty bad luck in the past with buying used. I only buy new now for the more expensive items.

You are more then welcome to come by and see my setup if you'd like to get some ideas.

Thanks,

Todd

Thanks Poppy,
I may have to call & stop by when I go shopping in IL. Also have to check out your post.
I bought the bullet & went with the 4-way version 4 (3 outlets open & 1 closed), 1-1/2" inlet & 4 x 1" outlets. Bought 4 Revolutions, 1"units that split to a 15,30, & 45 degree nozzles.
I'm going over the top back rim of the tank for my plumbing. I could drill holes, but I think the revolutions will work even better from the top pointing down.
I'll have to wait for the Revolutions as they are made on demand.
I've heard this type of setup is better than the Tunze streams w/controllers.
The people at Oceans Motions are really nice & knowlegable of their product. They did not try to sell me something I didn't need.

Agreed Tom. Super nice people. I think that setup will work great for you. Over the top works for a lot of people. I chose to drill my tank though.

Looking forward to seeing the progress. Let me know if you need any help.

I have a Super Squirt (with both version 2 and 3 drum) for my drilled 120. Which pump do you recommend? It is currently running a panworld PS 200 for return, and a panworld PS100 for a closed loop through 2 drilled holes in the back with one intake. I am planning on just running 2 of the returns from the SS over the top since the tank is already up and running.
Are there any pumps that are quieter than the Panworlds, with equal or more flow.

They say the SS will handle any pump up to 2500gal/hr.
Take a look at their forums section. Some really good info.
I believe you could use a dart pump & throttle it down a bit.

I have a Hammerhead running on a OM 4 way. I run the 4 way switched off of a Natural Wave timer on the 2x timer setting. It responds well to the high flow. However, the device does need occasional cleaning to ensure that it does not stick. Make sure you plumb and install the OM 4 way so that all connections can be broken easily to allow removal of everything for cleaning.

I am not sure about the Nylon bolts someone discussed earlier, as mine are 316 SS.

All in all in is a nice device. The only real differences between my Hayward automated 3 way valve and the OM 4 way is that the OM 4 way requires cleaning and the 3 way valve makes noise. In all other respects the two items are identical in function.
