ocellaris clown getting black spots.

My ocellaris clown that I've had over 1 year that was really tiny is getting black spots on him. I have noticed this for a few months, and I thought he was just getting more black with age. My wife is very concerned and says he is sick in some way. He shows no sign's of health problems, eat's well and host in my big patch of Zoa's. I have a gold strip maroon that chases him once in a while, and I think the black spots are scares from bits.

Anyone have a clue.

Here is a picture of the tank just for fun.

Don't have one. its pretty basic. Black Dots all over like a dalmation dog. They are not raised nor fuzzy.

If he is eating fine I wouldnt worry about it, maybe you have a new color morph you can breed out. Dalmation clowns, I'd buy that hehehehe

I think he looks cool. He eats great, he is more active this his mate. I can't see anything wrong with him other than the spots. I will try to get a photo. looks cool.

Just a melanistic reaction to other corals (like zoas) that it is coming into contact with. These will come and go over time.

I was thinking that to. My wife will be happy to see your post. He just started to host in the Zoo's couple of month ago as well. hmmmm.

Thanks
