Super Reef Octopus XP-2000 Cone Skimmer yet?

Thanks for that link, please post your testing. I will probably need to wait for the bigger one with the 10" base and bubble master 5000 pump, for my 180-gallon tank. This is definitely another one to throw into the mix. I have to choose between the Octopus, ATB, SWC, ITECH or ALPHA within the next few months.

Thanks, I'll look into it and see how cheap they are. If it is just a little blemish and doesn't hurt performance that is fine with me.

I think the Super reef with bubble blaster pump will be in the 399 ball park and pulld about 50 scfh

no you cant....

is $399 really that expensive 2 years ago 399 would have gotten you a crappy skimmer.

I just sent Coralvue an email to ask if they have a "bigger" Cone skimmer coming out with a 10" base and their Bubble Blaster 5000 pump. I think that would be more suited for a heavy stocked 180-gallon or larger. But then again with 50sch maybe the cone skimmer that they already have coming out this summer with the 8" base and the Bubble Blaster 2000 will be enough. 50sch seems pretty good for one pump.
So many skimmers to choose from: I now have it narrowed down to the Cone: Octopus, ATB, SWC, K2, ITECH, Alpha.... which is not very narrowed at all.

i worded that wrong. $400 is getting into my price range. if these get good reviews i will grab one to upgrade my rs100.

The motor looks like a laguna to me. If it is, then the skimmer is going to work very well.

It's not a laguna it is a laguna copy made in china called bubble blaster.

Sorry been busy!

I have had the k2 up and running for two days now and all i have to say is you will love it!
Not even broke in yet and I never thought I had that much Nog in my tank.

ryshark, just curious if you pinned one down yet? I'm seriously considering the Super Reef Octopus XP-2000 Cone Skimmer or the i-tech 200. I have a 180 as well. Seems like the Super Reef Octopus XP-2000 Cone Skimmer is slightly cheaper.
