The footprint given for the recirculating DNW-200 skimmer is 9 x 21, but an in sump DW-200 is shown as 6 x 12. Is the 9 inch difference in length to account for the return tube to the sump? If so, what is the length of skimmer on the ground? I'm trying to see if I can fit one in my stand. In sump won't work for me so I wanted a recirculating external skimmer, but 21 is way too big.

There is a plate that the skimmer sits on. That is where the foot print comes from. The DNW 200 is a pretty big skimmer. If size is an issue the DNW 150 works very well. I have that on my 120. If you need anything else just let me know.
