Odd situation... Need help.

Ok so... I have a Derasa clam in my 20Long Lagoon tank at work. There are 0 nitrates in the tank and it is lit by a 70W MH. In my tank at my house, I have about 15 to 20ppm nitrates and it is lit by a 150W MH... it is a 34 gal tank.

I need to move the light on the 20Long (the tank with the 70W MH) up because I'm dealing with a severely stressed and photoshocked RBTA (you can check the thread in the anemone forum for more about this if you want). I don't think the lighting will be sufficient enough for the Derasa if I move the light up (it will be about 8" above the tank. The tank is 12" tall and the clam is on the bottom NOT DIRECTLY UNDER THE LIGHT. So like I said, I don't think this lighting situation will suit its needs). Will it be best to move the clam directly under the 70W MH or should I move him under the 150W MH in my other tank that has a bit higher nitrates for the time being? Will the nitrates kill it? Thanks.

As long as you acclimate the dersa it should except the new tank but I would try to get those nitrates down as close to zero as you can. The clam will aid in lowering them some but not a whole lot. In my opinion I think you should place the dersa under the 150 watt ligth I feel the 70 w is to low. How is its color and what size is it?

It looks pretty healthly to me. You should be able to move it to the other tank with out much of a problem just acclimate it for an hour or so. Heres some information for you:
