Ok, so I got the used Odyssea skimmer from firehazzard and I am not sure what I am missing. It is making a cyclone/funnel of water, but there is no air injection ports or anything. It has a maxi-jet on it and that is the only port minus the flow port. Any help would be appreciated on getting this thing working. Firehazzard you have any suggestions? All I am getting is water movement, but no bubbles.

Try to hook a hose to the port on the maxijet. There wasn't a hose on it but from the way that pic looked I sent you I think thats whats up. The pump in the pic was a no name brand who knows by that pic where it connects on it. Im gonna keep searching Im sure we are missin something cause that thing has pink coraline all over it. It was workin we just have to figure it out. If you want me to come over and help you out this weekend let me know I'll be happy to.

I am going to try and hook my air pump to the inlet on the maxijet and see what happens tonight. I think that should work. I will post what happens.

I bet thats it. I found a air pump in the box thats got all the stuff from the tank. I couldn't figure out what it could be for. You can have it if you want it.

Yeah, I will take it. Did you find the lid for the collection cup also? I hope that is in there somewhere.

You shouldn't need the airpump. I run my maxijet 900 w/ airline just "pressed" into the inlet to aerate my water change water and it draws quite a bit of air.

I'm not sure what model of the maxi jet I had before I got this one with the skimmer, but it would not pull much air at all by itself. It is larger than this one as well.

Ok, so I put a rubber band around an air stone and the maxijet intake last night and it is now foaming this morning. It seems that everything is working now. I found that there was no air inlet on the maxi jet due to the way the adaptor hooks onto the maxi jet and the skimmer tubing, so I tried to put the air stone in the grated pre-filter but it made the maxi jet goof up with micro bubbles and spew all into my tank. My only problem now is reducing the micro bubbles going into the tank. I tried to place foam on the return on the skimmer, but it causes it to back up and flood over. Any suggestions?
