i thought it was time to add a tank thread, so here we go
(keep in mind this is pictures over months progress not days or weeks)

currently i have a 46 gal bowfront with a 45 gal sump. my sump is as big as it is because i knew i was planning an upgrade and i thought id start with a decent size so i do not have to re-build one soon after.
shes a beauty (light was temp. lol)

the tank didnt want to clear up until i strapped a canister filter just to get rid of some of the silt from the sand

then i wanted to set up a nano, but then i realised i'd need to invest in lights and decided to hold off. i have 2 of these tanks and they are identical. (excuse the laundry on the floor)

ok, the ghetto rig of the light fixture thats bungee corded on the front is because i have an icecap 660 ballast with 4 t5 lights, 2 10,000k and 2 atinic and ALL 4 are either on or off with no in between, so this is my temp fix. i turn this on (which has 2 reefsun bulbs) 1 hour before and after the t5s come on/off. next tank ill prob. get another ballast and run 2 additional lights to do this instead of an additional light fixture. the bungee cord is there for easy removal to feed/get in the tank. hope it wasnt too confusing and too ghetto for ya
