off topic...couple things

anyone own chameleons? Im looking for a female veiled to breed with my male. If anyone has one for sale let me know. The local shops around here are not very good and Im having trouble finding an online site with an adult.

Also Im looking for some live plants if anyone happens to have some. Im looking for Hibiscus, croton, pothos, ficus and any other cool chem safe plants.

the last thing...does anyone raise any bugs? Im mainly looking for a place to get dubia roaches. Online seems to be the only place to get anything other then crickets and superworms. The real prob is I cant keep roaches in my house. Im really not sure if I can even pick them up! haha. So if anyone happens to have anything or would be down on splitting an order, I will pitch in more but they would have to stay at your place.

I would say to go to the scales and tails on Broadway. Ask for Scott Wilder. I think he is still the manager. He is very sharp and could aim you in the right direction. I have an adult female, but Seattle is a bit far for a breeding trip. If there are any to be had in Denver, Scott will know where.

I've been to scales n tails, the one in den and lakewood. I have to say I'm not very impressed with the customer service. Also I don't think the staff really knows what they are talking about (though I haven't spoken to scott). There is a reptile show comming up next mmonth I'm thinking I will check it out. I'm not sure how much luck I will have finding an adult

I can assure you, the staff knows what they are talking about. The herp show there is a pretty good one and it really is your best bet on finding what you are looking for and getting it at a reasonable price. Just do research into what vendors will be there, and find out beforehand who you want to deal with. If you get the list of vendors from the website, you can go to their websites and contact them to see if any of them have what you are looking for. Then, if they know they have a buyer for it, they will bring it and do the deal with you at he show. There is vendors from all over the country that come to these shows and you can usually get anything you want from them. One thing though, breeding Chameleons is not easy and the hatchlings require constant care. Vieleds are one of the easiest, but still not a cakewalk.

Thanks for the tip.......I checked out the vendor list and its only about 20% full. Do you know if these things sell out? Is it just early for vendors to register?
I only ask b/c I would need to take the day off and don't want to if the shows a bust.

All of the shows I've gone to have been filled with vendors and wall to wall people, it is well worth your while. I also have about a dozen hibiscus, but they are the fancy type and priced accordingly.

If you are looking for Dubia roaches, ask Scott at Scales n Tails on Broadway. Before I moved, he was getting a colony going, so since it has been a year, it should be well established by now.
Usually the Denver show is pretty wewll full of vendors, but with the economy being what it is, it is a crap shoot right now. I would try to contact some of the vendors listed and see if any of them are bringing what you are looking for. Most of them are pretty decent if they have it, they will set something up with you.

I would ask for $20 for the smaller ones and $40 for the larger ones. You can see pic's on hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com. I've had them for about 6 months, so they are about double in size and most are budded up and ready to bloom. shoot me a PM and I can tell you which one's I'd be willing to sell.
