Jo-Mar's is issuing a reward for information regarding the theft of two lady gould finches from Jo-Mar's Petshop Saturday sometime after 3:00 Pm. These birds were not for sale and were Barry's pets. If you were in the shop and noticed anyone or anything suspicious in the bird room on Saturday June9th, (the Thieves took time to write a note stating that they took the birds because we would "not sell them to them" and left this in the cage), please come forward and help us locate the responsible party if you saw or heard anything.

Information leading to a positive ID and conviction will be rewarded generously. Please, if you are employed or own a LFS also be aware and on the lookout for anyone trying to sell these rare animals. These birds have been reported as stolen and we urge you to contact the shop immediately if you do see them. The birds are easy to ID as they are a pair of Lady Gouldian finches, the male is a rare blue and will be easy to spot.

I am posting this here not because I think anyone here did this but because I hope someone in this group "hears" something regarding this incident.

Hey Ron, does Barry remember them? I mean if they said he woud not sell the birds to them, then perhaps he remembers the people asking about them that day. I hope so much that this does get resolved, I would love for them to get caught and especially, Barry get his birds back...gosh how people disapoint me

I am giving them till Sunday to return the birds or have someone return the birds without fear of prosecution. Monday a warrant will be issued and this will become a serious issue for someone who may just think it's a joke or no big deal.

Man that sucks. I was there on saturday around 2:00-2:30 ish but didn't notice anyone near the bird cages. I hope barry gets them back and they are ok.

Hopefully you handed their note (anyone that dumb probably wouldn't even considered to wear gloves) over the the authorities.

If you haven't, definitely be sure and do so, along with the specific request to the investigating officer (presumably Nitro PD) that it be sent off to the WV State Police Crime Lab (which is local, and you pass right by on the way to Fuji's) for fingerprinting.

If they get any prints they will run it through the AFIS (automated fingerprint ID system) to check for a match. Unless they are juvies, it is almost guaranteed these knuckleheads have been arrested before.
