OK coralline, what's the deal??????

What exactly is the all sought after benefit of coralline algae. Aside from it's pretty colors:rolleye1: and indication that water params are good? What useful benefit does it serve?

i blieve its for looks. I don't know an actuall benefit.

I guess it helps with some nutrient export
like to remove nitrate if im not mistaken

All algae types will absorb or use certain amounts of nutrients to grow.

Also, nuisance algaes will not grow (or at least grows rarely) where you have good coraline growth.

Its growth is indicative of good calcium and alkalinity levels...
