This tank was first started back in Sept. 2007, it went very well, as FOWsomeLR. It changed to a beginner Reef system in November and the tank crashed killing almost all fish but the eel(dont worry, the Snowflake is gone now) and the Rabbitfish. The tank was just finished today as more and more LR was added. Not too many corals yes but if someone can identify the corals that I point out, that would be great.

This is Badger, the One-Spot Foxface Rabbitfish (as Im sure most of you know). I have never had a fish that is as personable as him, he loves to chase the magnet glass cleaner around and follows my hand in the tank with no stinging yet! (no chances taken most of the time). Also, he's the most beautiful one I've ever seen.

The nice Xenia below ( a little stressed out still)

Thanks for looking through this long list, more to come. Thanks to everyone who have helped answer my endless amount of questions as I moved into this EXTREMELY addicting hobby. One thing I've learned since this tanks crash earlier this month, is to take it very slow, which is why you wont see many fish or corals at the present time. My wallet and I thank you, ha.

Please remember to post you thoughts on the ID of these which I pointed out, thanks!

Sorry, I dont know why they posted so small but thats what Im sticking to for now, ha, too stressful to post pics for some reason. Anyway, I also forgot to add that this is a 46 gallon bowfront system.

Does anybody think that I need to post the coral pics closer? I can at least post a link to a bigger picture maybe. Let me know...

he has a nova extreme 36" i used that light and i likeed it alot.. i am going to use the same lights on a new tank soon

Thats what i thought. It almost looked like a 2 bulb t5. Iv heard they are a good light for the price. I do like the teks or nova pros tho.

Yea PC = Power Compact. I have Dual daylight and Dual actinic so there is essentially two daylight and two actinic bulbs. And I also forgot to mention it has a Lunar light (LED) as well so it looks like the moon is shining on it at night.

So i thought. I knew even the nova extreme had to be alot more bright than that one. Corals seem to be doing just fine with that pc fixture tho cool pics.

Hey thanks man, I appreciate the comment. Yea the Nova eXtreme will be the next light. The corals are definately doing fine, better looking than at the store of course, ha. Any suggestions on their ID?

Thanks for the idea, but my mushrooms are more like dotted lines, not solid blue lines, but they are kind of greenish/blue and glow in the light.

Things are looking great, Eric, I think! :) Some bigger pics would be easier to see, though.

If you are still having trouble with flickr (looks like you aren't), PhotoBucket is pretty accommodating and easy to use.

Looks like you're off to a great start! I'm not too far from you, maybe 45 min. Are you in any reef clubs yet? There's a CMAS forum here on RC.

For the coral ID's:
1st one looks like rhodactis sp. mushroom.
2nd maybe red people eaters (zoanthus gigantus). Probably not the originals but a wild look alike that is just about as nice.

Cool, thanks Im gonna go do some research on those names, I'll let you know how it turns out. No actually, I dont belong to any clubs yet, what is CMAS? And where are you located? I come from Rockford but go to school at NIU in Dekalb. Let me know here or PM, I dont care. Thanks...

Anybody else like or dislike the tank? Any suggestions?

MTB - Thanks for the suggestion on the polyp rock, as it turns out, it is a RPE! I looked up the definition and several pics and sure enough, it is one of seemingly many varieties of Zoanthid Gigantus. Thanks again...

And I just saw pictures of the Rhodactus and sure enough I found a pic of one that is very close to what I have, so unless anyone objects, they will be called Rhodactus mushrooms...haha
