OK, time for a light upgrade. T5 or PC?

I can't seem to find any VHO set ups. All I see are retro kits (not for me right now) So I'm trying to decide between either a T5 set up or PC.

Which one do you prefer and why? Looking to set up an anemone tank primarily.

Also, who's got the best prices. Looking to buy ASAP.

Thanks,

i would suggest halides for a nem tank. i have pc over a 30 gal and could never keep a nem, thoug my mom has pc on a 65 and keeps 2 nems, though one is moving alot i think it finally found a spot.

I switched from pc to t5 and it made a great difference. I am no expert, so I'll leave it to others to explain why t5 is a better choice.

T5's are a more intense bulb (for simplicitys sake) than PC's with less wattage. The bulb life on T5 setups are said to be about a 1.5-2yrs (not overdriven). Along with the fact that T5 bulbs are cheaper to buy. There is an excellent amount of info on the lighting, Filtration forum about T5's. (Bulb configuration would be an important consideration also)

The tank the anem is currently in is my 54g with MH/PC combo and the thing still moves around every couple weeks or so. Annoys the corals and clams. With my current 54 set up it gets all the light it could ever want but I think it's having a hard time finding a "happy place":D I'm hoping that the 38 I'm setting up for it will do the trick for it. I'm off to the lighting forum. Thanks again.
