ok to keep galaxae on bottom?

It can be wherever it receives adequate light. If you set it on the bottom or on sand, just make sure it doesn't get covered, since I have seen infection arise from this. It will get bigger, but isn't one of the fastest growing corals.

it will grow outwards more right? it doesnt need to spread like zoos or anything? crazy tenticles at night i want to try and keep it away from the others , lol

really? i was reading in jim bornemans book they come from low tide areas and dont like alot of flow, it also said the stronger the flow the longer the tentacles will be and they can sting other corals........................

keep it away from other corals, that one packs a pretty potent sting. I keep mine in medium flow. Mine softball sized galaxea will extend tentacles about 6-8 inches long. Yours looks very healthy.

I kept mine in lower flow when I first got it. It slowly started to decline. Once I upped the flow it came back around completely. Coincidence? Maybe. Just keep an eye on it and adjust the flow if you need to.

i see,ok ty, reason i got this is i tried a goniopora and it died, i heard these are easier to keep and look very similar.............

Similar looking? Not to me, but that I guess is in the eye of the beholder.:)

As long as it's getting enough light and flow it should be fine. They don't like heavy flow, but the tentacles should be waving. For your pic (thank you, I wish everyone could do that) you may see some die off at the bottom, where the top of the coral is overshadowing the bottom, but this should not be too big of a deal. It's hard to provide the lighting condtions a wild caught colony had in your tank.
