Okay, on to the next pest...

After (seemingly) successfully treating red bugs, I think I've found another pest. I'm thinking AEFW... What do you think?

Do they seem to like certain acros better than others (like RB's)? I've only noticedsigns on my valida type corals.

What is the best treatment out there right now? I read that people are having luck with FWE for whole tank treatments. Are these things like RB's in that you really need to treat the entire system to eradicate them (only makes sense, but thought I'd ask)? What is a good treatment on a single coral basis, just to save the two that look so affected?

TIA

I have had a slight dKH problem for a while, too... For too long, it has been around 6 or less, despite constant additions.

I vote it is an alkalinity problem. You must have a sand bed for levels that low. When I took out my sand bed, my dKh shot up to 11.8.

I don't like the spotty look of that closeup - but Alk issues can be weird as well IMO.

Maybe so, maybe not :fish2:

I would certainly much rather it be an alk problem. I can correct that. I do have a DSB. I've been fighting the alk levels for a while. It got as low as 2.6 at one time (KH). I've had ti up around 5.8-6 lately. I guess I need to be dosing more when I dose. Is the damage from AEFW larger than little spots? The pics of flatworms I've seen look like the worms are pretty good size. I thought the small spots were much smaller than the worms. If it is something I can fix with additives, that sure would make me feel better than having another pest...

Can't verify the flatworms for you but I can echo what is key to keeping acros - stability. Get that alk in line and keep it there. Your corals will thank you....
