Old ACjr, new DC8, problem?

I have an original ACjr bought years ago, back when they were first released. I recently bought a new DC8 to replace my original one (2 of the relays have stopped working) but the ACjr doesn't seem to be able to control the new DC8.

Did I get a bad DC8, or was there some change made that prevents old ACjr controllers from being able to work with new DC8 strips?

Check that the little white switches on the new DC8 are set the same as on the old DC8.

That was the first thing I checked. They match, both with the old one, and with what the sticker says they should be. I also tried it setup as strip B instead with no luck.

You didnt buy an EB8 by mistake did you? They only work with then Apex.

No. When looking I found the EB8 intriguing briefly, before figuring out I couldn't use one. It's a DC8.

From the responses received, I gather it really ought to work and I've most likely gotten a defective DC8.
