Olympus 350 vs. Olympus Stylus 770

Hey all... any one here had the opportunity to play with any of these two cameras?

I am purchasing one of the two on Monday with a housing for underwater photography. I know that the 350 is automatic and manual which is great, but is there anything more that the 770 has over the 350?

Thanks for any input!

I took a look at the specs and the 770 has one less megapixel (not horribly significant), and not quite as good macro performance but it does have image stabilization and the 350 doesn't. The 770 has a slower lens (f3.5 versus f2.8) and no hotshoe for an external flash. I don't know if you planned on using a strobe underwater-- you can't with the 770 I think. Hmm- no filter threads on the 770 either but I just came across this- the 350 has a raw format and the 770 doesn't. With the challenging lighting conditions underwater and in our aquariums the raw format is pretty important because it allows you to change the white balance on the computer.
All in all it looks to me like the 350 is a much better camera, with the image stabilizer being the stand out feature over the 350. Hope this helps,
Greg

Thanks gregr!

I personally like the 350 over the 770, but my bf likes the 770 more just because you can run a continues video recording where the 350 only lets you record for 1 minute max and then cuts out.

We both want two different things out of our first camera for underwater use... I want to take quality pictures and my bf just wants to record footage.

I had the opportunity to test out the 350 today... I reallllllly liked it, but have a lot to learn.

Thanks again!
