I know from reading that the onyx tag is for the captive bred ones that were from someone. Anyways picked up a wild pair for under $70. They are babies, The biggest being about 1.5 inches and the male at 1 inch or a tad under. True onyx or not i like em.
Anyways i am looking for a a host for them. What would be a good one that didnt move?
Carpet?

THat is a great buy for $70, and yup, they are ONyx if they are black like that on both sides :)

Best,
Ilham

Thanks, I wasnt looking down on other clowns, I was reading that only clowns bought from a breeder like rob, and some vendor i cant think of, But rod got his clowns from there. Anyways those were the ones that could be labeled as TRUE ONYX.
Thanks guys, You can post all the pics ya like. :)
I dont have the 190 anymore i switched to a 180, and yes they are in there. :) When they start breeding they can goto a special breeding tank i am hooking up in a few mos.

thats the rodonyx line but it doesnt mean that a wild cought isnt just as cool i have a pair of wild cough maroons i paired and they are bot perfect in everyway no defects the genetics of the wild cought are much more diverse

Thanks, Yeah i see that they compare them to a LE corals bloodline. Oh well looks like we have natures F nothing. LOL
I have noticed alot of the tank raised ones have misbands ect.
What causes that? Inbreeding? Lack of nutrients?
Maybe both. I dunno about a anemone, I dont want it to move or eat my fish, I had a bta before and it did both, moved all over and ate my yellow tang. LOL
Maybe just a crispa. I may wait till they gettheir fulltime home and get an anemone.

The last time i had clown pair and a frogspawn, The clowns were all stung up from the froggie. They looked like they had some blackspot disease. I had them for 2 years, and they looked like that the whole time.
The last pair of onyx i had were chewed up by my iwaki 70.
Cant happen now.

They do have a couple big patches of palys to float in.
