I would like to put an open brain coral in a 24g aquapod with stock 32 w lights. Can I get away with this or will I have to move it to another tank?

I tried an open brain in a stock 12g AP and had a tough time keeping it going and it gradually went down hill on me. Love how they look just need more light. Sorry :(

I have a 24g nanocube (not sure how the lights compare to the aquapod) and I had an open brain in it. It got pretty big fast, but I was feeding it pretty well. I still have it but moved it to my 20g because it had move space for it to expand. But now it looks like it's expanding even bigger.

Thankyou for the replies. I will watch it for a few more days and then probably move it to a bigger tank with more lighting.

Yeah, I agree with fox. BTW if you wanted to keep it in there buy the Aquapod 150watt halide light, then it should be absolutely fine.

Yes, the aquapod come with 32w actinic and 32w daylight.

The aquapod is actually my wife's tank and I'll have to see if she wants to upgrade. I think she wishes to stay with a fully enclosed system as she would like to take it into a classroom when she starts teaching. Thanks for the suggestion.

reefman13, that's the second thread today i've seen you push metal halide lighting. You'll get that job at the LFS soon enough, no problem! :)

Just joking..... I'm moving "up" to MH as we speak - can't wait.
