Open brain coral on rockwork

It is OK to place an open brain coral on the rockwork?

They would prfere to be placed on the sand bed as the rock work can damage there skeleton. Leading to infection and even death.

I always look at the bottom of the brain to see if it was taken off the rocks or the sand. I have one that was definitely collected from the rocks and that is where it is placed in the aquarium.
