I'm just looking at some possible eye catching Lps coral for my tank. I have one spot but the brain would possibly be partly overshadowed by the rock. Would the brain do fine? The coral would be placed on the substrate of my 20 high with quad t5's.
Most photosynthetic corals will not appreciate being in too much shading. Hard to say without knowing how much would be shaded. Given it is on the substrate under T5's I would lean towards no shading.
