Ophiothela danae feed on mucus of gorgonians and other corals, from what I read I don't think this causes any harm to the coral if anything the stars probably remove detrius etc from the coral surface.
I could'nt find any evidence of them attacking other inverts so I guess they are reef safe.
Oh EPIZOIC just means they live on another animal (I think lol)
