37 gallon tank with a 10 gallon sump (runs with about 6-7 gallons of water in it).

Pair of mated clowns and a BTA that my female hosts in and a cleaner shrimp with various snails etc.

The focus of the tank in the future will be corals but for now I would like to add 1 to two fish. I had a goby but he jumped out and don't want to put egg crate or cover on my tank.

Wanted to get some opinions on some other additions I can make that will be reef safe as well as not get pushed around by my clowns.

Your goby jumped out?? That's kinda odd I've never heard of a goby jumping out of a tank. I'm lucky if my goby gets any more then 5 inches off the sand bed. And I actually have a 37 gallon corner tank. And some options would be a wrasse of some kind maybe a blenny

any fish has the ability to jump out of the tank. doesnt matter on the type of fish that it is..

a smaller wrasse may work, dottyback, basslet, dartfish...any of these smaller fish would work. nothing like a dwarf angel or tang should be considered. they are to big and you dont wanna over do the bioload...

What kind of clowns?

I hate to give fish suggestions on a topless tank because, truly, any fish can jump. The new addition might also spook the clowns and one could jump. For a small tank, a thin mesh screen would be easy to make and nearly invisible. I would never cover with eggcrate either -- ugly and blocks too much light!

A Royal Gramma might work nicely in your tank if the clowns are on the less aggressive side. Or perhaps a blenny that mainly perches on rocks or a clown goby.

You could also think about adding some additional inverts, like some sexy shrimp, fire shrimp, an urchin, or rock anenomes.

Watchman gobys are readily available and reasonable in cost. I've had one in an open top tank for over 10 years.

Cardinals are a good candidate too.

As far as not getting harassed by the clowns, maybe a great white shark? Clowns can be vicious little things. Some are, some aren't.
