I currently setting up my new tank (360g) And I can't decide on what tunzes I want to get. I already have a 7095 controller and 2 6100 streams. I am trying to decide if I should go with 2 wave boxes or add 2 6200 streams? This will be the only circulation besides the returns, which will be a dart and 3 sea swirls.

I would probably add the 2 6200's. JMPO I sould be uncomfortable with the side stress from the wave box.

On the other hand, why not drill for a closed loop?

Well, I'll be the lone voice for the waveboxes!!
The stress is minimal to nonexistant and it creates a whole new effect in the tank. you already have the smaller streams, why add more of the same?

Check out any of the threads of WB owners in the sps or Tunze forum, those that got 'em, love 'em!!

yahutch 225 is sold :( to sarab

Close loops blow IMO. For a tank this size you need a big pump
$300- 400 pump
$100-200 for plumbing
lots of electricity and the mess of having a maze of pipes and holes drilled all over the tank, Plus the tank is viewable from the front and back

I would suggest 2 6200's for flow therefore you can have lots of flow in every which way direction. Not to mention you can have the streams operate as wave boxes depending upon how you set up the pulses and where the streams are located. Because your tank is so big you may have to get two wave boxes. What about having three streams and a wavebox?

I agree with Jimmy, why not just do a closed loop.
I'm setting up my first tank and I was looking at closed loops, but the electric bill would be steep. So, in short, I agree with gotfish8.

Still, I think my cost-no-object no-object dream layout would involve a no powerheads and a huge pump powering a closed loop buried in the rockwork.
