Orange Marked/Lined Goby Missing

I picked up this little guy yesterday afternoon. He stayed in one small area of the tank last night and this morning just sifting sand and doing his thing. Then I got home this afternoon and haven't seen him. Are they known to burrow like other sand sifting gobies? Could this by why I'm not seeing him? Not much out there on the web about this fish. LFS had him and I was looking or something that sifts the sand but not as much as a DWG.

It took me 4 weeks before I saw my hi-fin bared goby. Some do go in hiding for a bit when introduced but it will come out with time. From what I see in your signature I don't think your fish would be terrorizing it so just give it time to get used to the tank and im sure he will be out and about in a few weeks. Mine disappeared again after I introduced a pistol shrimp and they both came back out paired a few weeks later

my diamond goby disappeared for 3-4 weeks after i got him and he had just been hiding in the sand bed under the rock. once he came out, he was out for good and I have had him for about 15 months now. they are amazing fish (busy body; always sifting) and he keeps my wife partially interested in my hobby.

If you have an emerald crab they can be a problem with gobies but if not he is probably just in a burrow somewhere

He's back this morning and sifting all over the tank now. I need to learn to calm down with new fish acquisitions
