I have had this coral for about a month now. Dose phyto every other day. Polyps are out most of the time seams to be ok, but it is turning green about an inch up on the base. Is this bad? New to non photo any help is greatly appreciated.

I would recommend feeding a larger food, like rotifers are another species of zooplankton. Also try dosing every day, It can be automated with a dosing pump.

It sounds like your issue is the green you're seeing, vs feeding; although you will want to feed larger particle food. My concern would be placement. It sounds like you're getting some algae growth which is a common problem with sea fans. They need to be kept in very low light and high flow; primarily to keep algae from growing on them. If it is algae, try moving it to lower light or putting more flow on it

Very hard corals to keep. I'm building a 400+ gallon sump, auto feeder and mysid propagation system, primarily to attempt long term success with them. They are incredibly beautiful corals (not worms) but right now, 12 months is considered long term!

I just checked it does not seem to be algae. Wont rub off It looks like the orange peeled off the stalk, and it is a little whitish on the edge of the green to orange. I have it close to the edge of the tank on the bottom in one of the least lit areas I have under a power head so its gets the flow sucked from the tank to the power head. I thought that would give it a chance to filter anything from the water. Thought direct flow would be too much. That half of my tank is lit by T5's very blue. Looks like I might just have to enjoy it while it lasts. I heard they were hard to keep, but I've heard a lot of things that didn't hold true in this hobby. It depends who you ask. Not sure what to do?
