I just got this coral yesterday and it really hasn't opened up enough for me to feed it. I know it really doesn't care for direct light but it doesn't start opening up until the anctics are on or all lighting is off. Is there a way to get them to open up during the day so I can feed them Also what it the best food to feed them and how is the best method to feed??????

try dumping some food into the tank while the lights are on. Mine would open up whenever I stuck my arm in the tank. Whatever you try, just keep at it, they'll open eventually.

when i started out with mine i would take the water from thawed mysis shrimp and squirt some on top if it then feed once they open up. (i know its a big no no due to the risks of phosphates and what not but i figured only a week of it with a little bit wouldnt hurt it was in my 110g) did that for the first week at the same time each day and by the 8th day or so it was already open waiting to be fed.

or if you have a small tank you might want to take it out of the tank and put it in a container and try the same method this way you wont pollute the water in your tank.

I get the best polyp extention feeding cyclopeze. Just turn off the filters and squirt a bit over the suncoral. Once it's open you can feed a meater food (mysis, squid, brine, etc.).

Cool thanks for the help everyone, it seems to be working well. they are looking pretty fat. It's hard to get to feed all off them though. Will they die off or what? I know they recommend to feed everyday but will every other day hurt?
