ordering LR

As I am ordering my L.R. I am wondering how do most of these retailers weigh? is the weight shown actual rock weight or total package weight? could be a big difference right? As an ex UPS employee I have seen stranger things... and I have also seen the way in which these packages have been treated? shipping generally come out good?

I've never worked in the shipping dept of one of these retailers, but I don't think it should be a big difference. All the online places I've ever bought from ship in styrofoam boxes, which couldn't weigh more than a lb or two. And yes, I've had good experience with it so far.

The online retailers weigh just the rock, they will weigh the box and the styrofoam, then deuct that from the weight of the rock.

I just bought my LR last week (Int. Marine) and the order was for 100lbs of rock and the shipping bill was 125lbs. So I think I got more than the 100lbs of rock. The boxes and the plastic bag did not weigh 25 lbs. HTH.
