for those with an ORP meter and/or Ozone. How often do you test/clean your probe. I cleaned and tested my pinpoint today and got kind of a high reading. the solution is set at 450 and I got a 495 reading. The probe is 3 months old
What did you clean the probe with? I find the best results if I use full strength vinegar and a toothbrush. Then let the probe sit in the vinegar for 5 minutes and then gently scrub with the brush one more time. Followed by a freshwater rinse and then into the calibration solution. Leave it sit until the reading stablizes and that can take up to 1/2 hour. Also the temperature of the calibration fluid will change the reading as well. Don't fret if your +/- 30mV off.
I find about 1/week cleaning and 1/month calibrating to be pretty good rule of thumb. I use a soft tooth brush to good effect doesnt seem to shorten lifespan. About 1 year of good service is the norm. For calibrating quinhydrone/pH buffer solns work the best if you need high accuracy such as for use with an O3 controllers.
