OT/ Anyone Have Puppies?

Well, I am a lab lover and I live in an apartment. But I will tell you that the Aspca near mellinia always has retriever pups. I want one everytime I go. I would rather rescue on that make some breeder rich. check it out.

Yeah its on conroy right after the mall on the left next to DSW shoes. orange county shelter and Aspca is there at the same location.

I went and looked..what a sad place.:( So many pit bulls, and dogs that noone wanted anymore.:( :( I found one I liked, but it was already adopted. Thanks for the info lusenut, I am looking for a dog that will be a bit bigger than a boxer, and partial to long faced dogs vs. the bulldog type face.

Definitely check out the spca every so often and you will find the one you want - i think especially in spring time lots of kittens \ pups show up from people getting fed up with their unwanted xmas gifts \ non neutered\spayed animals uh, doing their thing.

Also does anyone know if the building right across from the aspca there at conroy is like a state adoption (not volunteer) place or something? i've always wondered what it was ..

I got 2\3 of my cats from there and have been very pleased.. but yes it kinda makes you wanna cry and just buy them all and buy a farm or something to give them all places to live

There's also a place on SR 545 in winter garden just south of Phil C Peters Rd on the east side of the street. This place doesn't euthanize. You might want to check them out. I forget the name of the place...maybe someone else knows..

probably won't intrest you but, i have 4 pug pups ready to go in about a week or 2..

Hi, Carole, I compiled a good list of links for you in your hunt for finding your new best friend.

First, I would suggest checking out Petfinder.com to find local labs/lab mixes for adoption. Here are a couple I found (on just the first page).

1 Year Old Chocolate Lab Mix

Another Lab Mix

Special Needs lab for Adoption

Second, I would also check out the Labrador Rescue of Florida

Lastly, if you are looking to buy a dog from a breeder, be careful. Although all puppies may seem the same, dogs (especially labs and other very common breeds) that are bred by inexperienced breeders can often come with many different health problems. I would suggest looking up the Labrador Club, and contacting them for a list of reputable breeders in the area. Taking the proper time will ensure that you will have a healthy dog, and support only the most responsible breeders.

Good luck...

Thanks everyone for your help. I found this little guy...today.

OMG, I work at a petshop and have never seen a prettier dog. What an awsome find! That dog is (and is going to be) gorgeous.

that is going to be one beautiful pooch when it gets older(not that it isn't now) :).But man like ricanboy said awesome find! I am also looking to adopt a lab but I would like for it to be atleast 2-4 years old preferrably. I have a 5 year old female yellow lab now. Just looking for a good dog that she could hang out and play and keep her company. I like the chocolate mix that InLimbo posted...Although he is a little young for what I'm looking for.
