hey guys bad news here....some of you know that my wife and i live with her mother to help her being that she cant really do much of anything on her own and iin doing so helps us out with a place to be and all that, as it stands right now if we are lucky then she will return from the hospital and nursing home within a few months, the other side of that is she wouldnt come back and would have to stay there for the rest of her days...if she were to stay then she may or may not be able to continue to help us money wise, if she were able to continue to help then things are ok, but if not then we would have to move out of here due to not being able to afford this. the fact that i don't have my own car and we only have what my wife uses is a big problem due to her needing it 3 times a week to head to vandy for our daughters treatments which leave me no time to be able to use it much and there for make it very hard for any jobs......as all this hits the table we also need to somehow replace a 300 - 400 dollar fuel pump on the car and on a lesser note the credit that i will get for returning my formosa wrasse today will be spent on salt mix and not a fish like my wife wanted and all this boils down to my possibly needing to sell off the tank, along other things being that we may need to move to new orleans to my folks

Mario I will still swap you Wrasse for the Tang. I will also give you a bag of salt from the store. Hope this helps.

Scott

If there is anything Chris and I can do to help you (he is an ASE mechanic) let us know.....We wish you all the best in any avenue that you choose to take.

UPDATE:
we visited my wifes mother after i just ended up getting IO salt with my in store credit ( thanks scott ) and found out she has crohn's disease (a google search will explain it better then i could) and well she believes that with a bit of time at a nursing home she can get more streanth back to where she is able to get up as much as she was before this happened which wasnt very good, but with help from my wife and the kids things were ok, if she is able to get back like she thinks then all will be better, or at least the way things were before, this will end up being a rather tough christmas due to my wife not able to work because she needs to take care of one of the kids constantly, the other may have crohn's as well due to it being on both sides of the family (really hope not), wifes mother may not come back which messes money issue up and then there is the head of the family, me, who is in the place where i am that was stated in the first post.... i will be updating this thread for those who might be interested....thanks to all the very heart felt comments, they don't fall on def ears and are greatly appreciated :D

So sorry to hear that Mario.... I hope everything will get better for ya. Time are tough right now, it shouldn't wait until Christmas for all this to happen.... Just hope for the best, we'll keep you in our prayers!!!!

UPDATE:
my folks home is a no go so it looks like we will have to try and mannage here in tennesseee

we kinda fixed the problem with the car by trading in for a 2010 it ups the payments a month by 70 bucks, but if we cant seem to make anything else happen at least we can live in the car :D

yeah mike i am trying to take one problem at a time.....just took off the 200 dollar phone/internet plan off and we have a go phone now :D and paid off the new dish washer we have so later on when the money is very very tight we dont have to worry bout that

update:
found out the usual water bill is only around 60 and not the 80 that we thought it was so that may help out, but we need to talk to a social worker at the nursing home because if my mother in law stays there then they will taake her home away to pay for everything, had she of signed the house over to my wife or i then they couldnt, but thats not the case here.....we are thinking maybe since she isnt actualy going there to stay right now her mother might be able to sign it over real fast and it might still be fine as far as statue of limmitations go

I didn't think they could do that...my understanding is that they can't just take a person's house, and I believe one vehicle...in the chance the person will be rehabilitated to return home and be independent...I would do some more research on this for sure, maybe even ask a lawyer.

A nursing home can take the house if there is no spouse needing the house. This is assuming that she is going to be permanently placed in the nursing home. If she is just there for rehab, or temporarily, things are different. Medicare will be paying the payments if it is temporary. There are limits as to how long Medicare will pay for the stay, even if it is temporary.

How did you qualify for a new car loan without a job?

we called lawyers and yes it works that way....if she is unable to pay her bills the nursing home can take the house away, unless about 5 years back she has signed away her home to my wife or to me.....this is the way all nursing homes work, however we also found out through "elder laws" that there are loop holes on this....being that my wife has cared for my mother here at this home for 5+ years that through medi-caid that we may be able to get and keep the home....if that doesnt work out which it should.... a child related to her that has some sort of disability should be able to get the home as in our daughter who needs dyalisis in order to live.....so like i said we called a few lawyers and hopefully will hear soon about this so maybe there is hope to keep the house :D
