I'm with the couple of others that think the change was a good one... the menu on my HDTV actually looks much better (crisper/sharper) than the old interface and the menu feels much easier to navigate... I actually find it to be much more intuitive now and I have not experienced any of the crashing or slow response concerns mentioned on here. I kind of like the upgrade from switching between a PC and a Mac. I know how to use, fix, upgrade, etc. both platforms. The PC offers some advantages as far as hardware configuration and expandability but the OS and general everyday use of the Mac is oh so much nicer.

I think the upgrade was a good one!

WOW I totally didnt get the upgrade you got... lol I compare the upgrade I got to a I had a ps3 and they went to a nintendo

They stole all the great features so that they could add a service that noone needs to and very few will ever use. They wanted to make caller-id on tv, which has to be the stupidest idea ever to cross the minds of the laziest person to ever live. Is looking down from your tv screen to your caller id on your phone too much work for someone? How many people still have home phones? How many of those don't have cordless phones with a display for caller info? How many people with old school phones and old school caller id's really have the DVR?

They kept keyboard search, but not keyword search. Now you have to know the title and then search through pages to get to what you want. For example, try to find out what time and then try to record the Jacksonville Jaguars game this coming weekend. Before, I would go to search, search by keyword and type in Jaguars. Anything with Jaguars in the description would show up(maybe a few shows to search through). Now you have to go to sports, go to football, find NFL football, and then search through every game until you come to the right one. For baseball, it's even worse during regular season.

Anybody that has ten minutes to find a show, check out the example I gave above and you will see the treacherous ordeal it is to find a show you want.

By the way, hi everyone...how has everybody been. It's been a while since I've been online, but now that I have a job, I might be visiting a little more often.

i never even knew about the caller id thing. i agree it's pretty lame. however, there will be true video conferencing soon enough, and it will be needed at that point. if it's true they changed the layout because of having to add that feature, it shows how little bandwidth they have left in the pipe. i guess you can forget them adding any new channels either then. usually they just rob some bandwidth from each channel, resulting in a poorer picture, but i guess that's not an option anymore?

Yeah, it's really me. I know it's been a while, but without any real job(couple very long hour contract works) and no concrete form of income, it has been a long year and a half. Now I'm in with a great company and have the opportunity(and desire) to get my tanks back to where they once were.

I won't be on this forum full-time like I previously was, but at least I'll be able to throw in my $.02 every once in a while...

Regardless, on this topic, I called Brighthouse a few times and sent a letter requesting an IT or software programmer supervisor to call me so that I could air my grievances and got an e-mail saying that I was an important customer and that someone would be contacting me...three weeks ago. Brighthouse's programming has now caught up with their customer service in striving to be worse than before. I've had issues with them ever since Time Warner Communications was bought out by them and ruined their whole customer service department, but I've never had this many issues with their software.

In fact, the only problem I had with their previous software was fixed for this new update(ereased files used to still take up memory, now it is permanently ereased). Also, when are they going to activate the USB port so that I can add a 500GB external hard drive?! And bring back my serach capabilities!!!!
