OT - Bunnies

I'm thinking of getting my daughter a bunny for a pet. Does anyone here have any experience keeping them or better yet have any bunny supplies for sale? I'll need a hutch and all the accessories.
 
i adopted two for my son recently. they live outside in a hutch year round ( condition for getting them would be only if they can do that). they're getting more used to us but still a little skittish. better get them when they are young; from a breeder or a rescue.
 
try to adopt one! there are a bunch at the animal welfare league in chicago ridge. some are rather friendly and come up to you.
 
My wife's friend has a mini something that just had a baby. She said it will be ready for us in about a month so I have time to get ready, and it will get plenty of handling between now and then.
 
I've had rabbits. Why a hutch and why outdoors? They can be litter trained. I kept a dog crate for them, built little levels in it out of some cheap lumber and put a little litter plan in there for them. They were as free to hop around the house as my cat and never made a mess (except for when they would chew apart their toys, but that's expected). I'd only lock them in at night. You do have to bunny proof the house a bit, there are some tricks, but they're very lovable and affectionate animals. One of my bunnies, Clover, liked to sit in my lap when I watched TV.
 
For me, the hutch is for it's safety. I have a terrier and I'd be worried that she'd kill it. Mine will be an indoor bunny.
 
when i was in jr. high i had a mini-bunny (yeah it eneded up weighing around 22#) that i keep in the tool shed in a 6' hutch.

the rabbit would let itself out of the cage in the morning, roam my yard and the neighbors (sometimes 3-4 houses down), chase the neighborhood cats around, and at night go back "home" to his hutch all by himself.

i agree, they dont make the best pets.
 
Ahh good, indoor bunny. Yeah, my hutch was a dog crate then. I just put some scrap carpeting in there and built levels using wood planks. My bunnies made great pets, I had mini-lops though.

I kept mine just like this also agree with it 100% but mine would be locked up more than yours sounds ill go check to see if I still have my bunny cage ill pm you if i do.
